We are Michiganders excited to share our love of this area with you through modern, unique designs. Northern Roots is a family business started in 2015 after a devastating storm struck our town of Glen Arbor, MI. Many of the trees, docks, and wooden structures that were damaged inspired a reclaimed wood sign business depicting the northern Michigan places we are rooted in. We began as MichAgain Signery, and for years sold at Leelanau farmers’ markets and art fairs. In 2020, we opened a Northern Roots retail space on the Boonedocks deck followed by another retail location in downtown Glen Arbor called Copper. Now in 2024, our business has transitioned to an online presence.

While our focus has shifted from reclaimed wood sign making, we are proud to feature the bold, iconic designs of local artist Scott Pryor in many other creative forms including posters, hats, water bottles, and our one-of-a-kind Pour North barware collection. You can shop our products here.
